ECHO conferences around the world serve to connect development workers who serve small-scale farmers and work to alleviate the challenges of world hunger. The International Conference, held annually in Fort Myers, FL, regularly attracts delegates from over 30 countries.

Who should attend an ECHO Conference?

Development workers at every stage find benefit at an ECHO agricultural conference. Many presenters at conference have attended events in years past as beginning development workers, and now have time-tested techniques and experience to share. Delegates with more experience often find that these conferences bring them up to speed on what is new, and changing, in the world of agricultural development. Those starting out in this field build valuable networks and gain hands-on training that will have lasting impact on their effectiveness and longevity.

2019 ECHO International Agriculture Conference

NOVEMBER 19 - 21, 2019

Thank you for a wonderful conference and a great learning experience. The three days of the conference had a profound impact on my perspective towards missions, community development, and agriculture.

What is Offered?

Morning plenary sessions focus on practical ideas that have proven successful in communities around the world. peakers will share practical solutions to agricultural challenges, personal experiences and strategies for improving the lives of millions who daily face the threat of starvation. The event offers an open exchange of information, connecting the people and ideas that can make a real and sustainable difference.

Afternoon workshop sessions give a chance for hands-on demonstrations and small group interactions about topics of interest to particular groups.  Workshops and demonstrations are held at the 50-acre ECHO farm in North Fort Myers, which has one of the largest collections of tropical fruits and vegetables in the United States.

Evening sessions are brief reports on a particular technique, plant, project, or approach, and provide opportunity for group interaction and participation.

Post-Conference Workshops

An important part of the event is the Post-conference Workshops. These workshops are very helpful and useful opportunities to delve deeper into topics of interest for individuals that are able to stay for one more day. Topics vary each year.
